Technology teams are often the teams that have the most intense pressures, from cost to resources and to timelines. This is especially true for technology teams at new businesses and start-ups, who not only have to deal with budget and resource constraints and faster time to market but also oftentimes have to build the technology stack from the ground up.

In this session, leaders from two start-ups——Bill Martiner, CTO, Avenue One; and Tyler Danielson, CTO, FOXO—discussed their journey leveraging the Unqork platform to power their business and future-proof their businesses from the start.

Getting to market faster with codeless

Founded in 2020, First Avenue, an SFR real estate company, already has $2 billion of capital under management.

“Unqork is really a big part of the vision of being able to deploy these little micro applications that real estate brokers or inspection professionals, renovation professionals, property managers, are all use to be able to coordinate and to be able to be paid through our platform,” said Martiner.

Using saliva-based epigenetic technology, FOXO changing how insurance companies underwrite and sell their products.

“Unqork really helped us with the ability to do something high quality right away,” said Danielson. He credits the Unqork platform for “the speed to market we could do it at—double the speed, half the cost.”

“The component structures were already there,” Danielson explained. “Atomic design was built in APIs that supported it, and then there is the ability to be adaptable, because all those components could be switched in and out based on what we learned from the systems.”

Bringing the business deep into the development process

Both Danielson and Martiner credited Unqork’s codeless approach with aligning tech and business teams, which in turn helps bring better products to the market faster.

“You can bring the product people into the Unqork toolset, because it is so open and accessible,” said Martiner “This allows the product people to kind of get to an MVP quickly. That speed and the ability to experiment Is super valuable.”
