Coffee & No-Code Rewind: The Unveiling of Unqork Marketplace

With the debut of the world’s first ever no-code Marketplace, Unqork’s VP of Marketplace Warren Chen, Founder Gary Hoberman, and Product Manager of GTM Noah Grosshandler discuss the launch.

As the VP of Marketplace at Unqork, I will forever remember June 22 as the day we launched the world’s first ever no-code Marketplace.

I joined Unqork’s Founder Gary Hoberman in his LinkedIn Live series Coffee & No-Code, alongside our Product Manager of GTM Noah Grosshandler, to announce this huge milestone. Built specifically for the enterprise to build applications at lightning speed, the Unqork Marketplace is an extensive library of no-code assets: pre-configured software snippets, pre-built integrations from partners like DocuSign, Twilio and Experian, and customizable applications that have wide applicability across industries.

In the same way Creators drag-and-drop components to build workflows within the Unqork platform, Creators can quickly pick up these time-saving assets and add them to their Unqork environment. I am excited about this new functionality because while no-code tools already accelerate complex builds, the Marketplace enables our customers to bring enterprise grade applications to market even faster and more reliably.

During the live session, Noah was challenged by Gary to build an enhanced version of what is called “digital paper” to show viewers an example of the power of the listings on the Marketplace. We wanted to show this because, as Gary explained, “It’s something which continues to irritate me as a consumer … It’s a company’s attempt to digitize by simply creating a fillable PDF. No rules. No data.”

Gary recently opened up an account with a major bank and was emailed a PDF to fill out. Unfortunately, the social security number field was not fillable. Gary informed the bank that some fields were missing, and then he had to refill a new form all over again. I’m sure you’ve experienced frustrating experiences like this as well.

“A fillable PDF is literally paper. It shouldn’t exist in this world today,” Gary added. Of course, organizations need to gather data, so Noah built a better digital form for data capture.

I asked Noah to elaborate on how long this would take to build without the snippet (in this case, Drivers License Parsing) and workflow editor available in the Marketplace.

“If I wanted to use all these components and build it myself in Unqork, it would probably take me 40/50 minutes, maybe even an hour—obviously, that’s much faster than doing it via Javascript. But what you saw here, that’s two minutes of finding it, installing it, and dragging it in.”

“If I was to do this with code, I have to understand Microblink and I have to set up that integration. That’s going to take me hours and hours,” said Noah. “If I wanted to use all these components and build it myself in Unqork, it would probably take me 40/50 minutes, maybe even an hour—obviously, that’s much faster than doing it via Javascript. But what you saw here, that’s two minutes of finding it, installing it, and dragging it in.”

What’s even more exciting is that we handle all the maintenance, taking a lot of that ownership off the engineer or Creator. I added, “If there’s changes to the end-point, we will make sure that we incorporate those changes into a new version of the snippet.”

As Gary puts it, “We’re storing your data. There is no more database in our world. We’re not a tool in a tool belt, we’re the entire workshop.”

I hope you are as excited about the enhanced functionalities and accelerators available in the Unqork Marketplace as I am. This is just the start for the Unqork Marketplace journey, and we are excited to continue to provide more assets for Creators to leverage and value to our customers going forward.
