At Unqork Create 2022, Bassam Chaptini, CTO, Unqork, introduced major, customer-led product initiatives that will make it even faster and easier to build, run, and manage enterprise software with Unqork’s Cordless-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform, including:
- Version control
- RBAC for workspaces
- Application monitoring
- Embedded UIs
- Component-level styling
Version Control
There are Unqork customers who have hundreds, even thousands, of developers working on a single system—and often dozens working on a single app at the same time. To ensure that they can collaborate seamlessly, Unqork has rolled out Version Control. “Now, you can branch, merge, and do all the things that software engineers are used to,” said Bassam.
Workspace RBAC
To meet the demand of Unqork customers for more granular permissioning and controls, Unqork introduced Workspace RBAC to govern access to the Unqork platform. This new feature ensures that only approved team members can perform a given set of functions within the platform, from code promotion to data monitoring.
Application monitoring dashboard
Unqork customers—many of whom are running dozens, even hundreds, of applications—wanted a tool that would enable them to quickly monitor their environment, identify applications that are healthy, and pinpoint legacy systems that may be slowing down the performance of codeless apps. Unqork plans to make a new application monitoring dashboard feature available soon.
Embedded UI
“We’ve been spending the last year rethinking our runtime engine from the ground up, and have been rearchitecting the components to make the platform even more performant,” says Bassam. Embedded UI will be a key feature of the new Unqork OS, enabling users to go to a component and, with a simple click, get a tag to insert the component’s UI into a larger framework. “Unqork’s renderer will then magically render your Unqork app within a portal or a third party app,” says Bassam.
Component-level styling
Unqork customers have requested the ability to target styling down to the component level. Instead of having to use Figma or other tool, developers will be able to link to a style, directly import it into Unqork, and edit it as needed.
